Reflection:
Couples Therapy and Counseling

There is nothing more valuable than human connection.

Without human connection, none of us would be here. Our first point of contact is generally our mother. In some cases, this early point of contact may be somewhat different than the stereotypical birth followed by a warm embrace on our mother’s chest. For some of us, it’s a different caregiver who feels like “home” and for others, it may not be until we meet our future romantic partner, that we truly feel “home.” Nevertheless, we have many points of contact throughout life that help build, shape, and guide the type of people we are, what we can become, and what type of partner we are and can be.

Before it's too Late

If there’s anything I know from my many years of personal and professional experience in relationships, it’s this, we need to act BEFORE our partner or family member is so fed up with us that our belongings are on the front lawn or a petition for divorce has been filed. It’s the day to day that we need to work on strengthening so that we can prevent getting to a “breaking point.”

Relationships come in all shapes, sizes, formations, and are not built in a vacuum. We have to maintain a liberal mind when thinking about our relationship and how we want to maintain relationship health. That’s where I come in! I will help you create a roadmap for long-term relationship health BEFORE it’s too late! When couples feel they are ready for help, it is often a struggle to get in the door. They will say “I can’t take time away from my work day” or “there’s no way both of us can be in the same place at the same time in order to do counseling due to our busy schedules and needs of our children, etc.”  I have the solution for you. Virtual counseling through a hippa compliant platform which enables you to safely and effectively complete couples therapy sessions from any place, any time, any where. Due to increasing demand from my clients for more flexibility, I am bringing the therapy to you. You no longer have to take the time to drive to a traditional office in the beginning middle or end of a work day to do counseling. It’s as easy as calling, emailing or texting to schedule an appointment, clicking on a link to sign off of electronic documents in your secure client portal, entering a credit card to hold your spot, and you’re ready to go! At the time of your appointment, you will receive a call from me through your hippa compliant, secure, telehealth platform through my practice management software Simple Practice, and we will have our video session.

There’s no time like the present to feel happier and more fulfilled in your relationship. Don’t wait for your sh*t to be on the front lawn. Give me a call, send me a text, or and e-mail.

If finances are a potential issue, please read!!
Another barrier for treatment I often hear from potential clients is the financial aspect. It is extremely important to give some perspective to this. We all have priorities and things we are willing to spend money on as well as other things we would NEVER spend our hard earned $ on. Therapy is an investment in your life’s happiness. It is not a gym membership that you will pay for and use once a month, it is not a manicure that lasts a week, and it is not a meal at a restaurant that will end up in the toilet in a couple days. It’s an investment in your present and future life! Don’t be afraid to make the investment up front because it will ultimately save you way more money and emotional turmoil than a bad break up or divorce. I will work with you on real life tools and solutions so that you can become a relationship expert in your own life and not have to spend years and years searching for answers.

If you want to have a healthier, happier, more fulfilling relationship with a partner, spouse, or family member, give me a call, text, or e-mail NOW. Don’t wait for your sh*t to be on the lawn.

Many people think of couples counseling as a series of sessions between angry couples who are on the brink of a break up. It is often viewed as a last-ditch attempt to avoid a split. Sometimes this is true. But couples counseling is also something that every couple can benefit from – those who have a ‘normal’ amount of arguments and miscommunications, as well as those who find their relationship in jeopardy. Don’t wait until it is to late, speak with a couples counseling therapist today.

All relationships have times when things don’t run smoothly. Often, this is because people have conflicting expectations, are distracted with other issues, or have difficulty expressing what is on their minds in ways that others can really hear and understand. Sometimes they just don’t know what to do to make a good relationship. Counseling helps couples of all types recognize and resolve conflicts and improve their relationships.

Common relationship concerns can include:

  • Financial difficulties
  • Routine conflict
  • Emotional distance
  • Sexual intimacy issues
  • Lack of trust

How Jessica Dell, Park City and Jupiter/Palm Beach Gardens Therapist Helps Couples Through Couples Counseling

An Unbiased, Professional Opinion

Couples therapy is an investment that people make to better their relationship with their partner. As such, it’s a give-and-take approach to bettering your commitment as a whole.

When you see a marriage or relationship counselor, you shouldn’t have to feel as if you’re presenting a case for your “side” each time you come together for counseling. Rather, our Utah and Florida marriage and relationship therapist will offer professional guidance and insight on how both parties can work toward a healthier, more harmonious life together.

Couples counseling can a help a couple to:

  • Re-examiner what caused them to come together in the first place
  • Comprehend and recognize the relationship they presently have and how they feel about each other
  • Classify/identify the steps they are prepared to take to make the relationship work
  • Discover what they desire from their relationship and what they want from their partner
  • Reflect how each party contributes to the relationship

Counseling enables couples to develop better communication skills, enhance intimacy and learn to navigate new terrain in their lives. At The Dell Center, we believe that while the relationship is the focus, each individual person should also focus on self-improvement and self-awareness. In fact, many people successfully address their relationship problems through individual therapy, which they are able to apply in context with their partners. With this in mind, we leverage both individual and group therapy to help couples improve their intimacy and rebuild their relationships.
