Also known as Attention Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, ADHD is a chronic condition that often begins in childhood and persists into adulthood. Symptoms, which include attention difficulty, hyperactivity and impulsiveness, may manifest themselves later in life as low self-esteem, troubled relationships and difficulty at school or work. At The Dell Center, we believe in teaching our clients to manage their symptoms, and embracing them as part of who they are and what makes them unique.
Anxiety disorders can manifest themselves in several ways, including panic attacks, agoraphobia and separation anxiety. At The Dell Center, our unique “off-site” treatment approach enables us to work closely with our clients in a way that they’re most comfortable with, providing a safe, peaceful environment where they can learn how to manage and eventually overcome their symptoms..
Also known as Manic-Depression or Manic-Depressive Disorder, this behavior is characterized by mood swings that alternate between periods of depression and periods of elation or ‘mania’. For people suffering from this disorder, the depressions can be severe and the mania can seriously impair their judgement, making them prone toward reckless and/or inappropriate behaviors. At The Dell Center, we look at all aspects of our client’s needs – the physical, mental, emotional and physical – and create a treatment plan that is uniquely tailored to their personal needs.
Clinical depression is more than just being “down” or a temporary feeling of sadness. It is a serious condition that leads to a range of behavioral and physical symptoms that affect a person’s mind and body, and impact all aspects of everyday life including changes in sleep, appetite, energy level, concentration, daily behavior or self-esteem. At The Dell Center, we tailor our treatment plans for the individual, combining therapy and medication to address the physical, spiritual, emotional and mental wellbeing of our clients.
Also known as Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, OCD is a common, long-lasting disorder in which a person has uncontrollable, recurring thoughts and urges that cause anxiety, and manifest themselves as behaviors that are repeated over and over. At The Dell Center, we use a team approach to address the disorder, including a combination of individual therapy, group therapy and medication if appropriate, based on our client’s specific needs.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (or PTSD) can occur after a particularly traumatic event, with triggers that can bring back memories of the trauma accompanied by intense emotional and physical reactions including flashbacks, nightmares and anxiety. At The Dell Center, we create a treatment plan based on several factors, including the source of the trauma, the nature of the trauma and the age of the victim at the time of the trauma. We then work closely with the client, as a team, to both mange the symptoms and work through the traumatic event.
