Symptoms of Anxiety
Even if you don’t necessarily feel nervous, you may be experiencing side-effects of anxiety. Some people never realize that they have anxiety issues until it becomes severe enough to cause a panic attack.
Let your Park City or Salt Lake City anxiety therapist know if you’re experiencing any of the following:
- Difficulty sleeping
- Problems concentrating
- Abnormal heart rate
- GI issues
- Avoiding particular activities
- Shaking or trembling
If you are, you may be suffering from anxiety without knowing it.
“Am I Having a Panic Attack?”
When you aren’t aware of anxiety and it has built up to a point that your body can no longer cope with the excessive stress, it may result in a clinical condition known as a “panic attack.”
Panic attacks are physical in nature, causing significant changes in your body such as tremors, chest pains, feeling faint, a rapid heartbeat, and feeling as though you have lost control.
It’s not uncommon for our Utah therapy clients to mistake their anxiety attack for a heart attack.
When Anxiety Interferes With Everyday Life
Thousands of people experience anxiety, but only about 1 out of 3 of them will reach out for help with a licensed therapist. The inconvenience and embarrassment of feeling a loss of control is one of the most common misconceptions that our Utah anxiety clients experience.
Talking to our Salt Lake City or Park City anxiety therapists is one of the best ways to learn coping mechanisms to overcome high stress triggers and reduce the occurrence of panic attacks, if not avoid them completely.
The Dell Center for Therapy offers convenient in-person sessions as well as online anxiety counseling for our Utah clients. You can book your appointment today to get started!
